Joints
The first part of the process was to place all the joints creating the beginning of our skeletal structure. This joints are all points at which the final creation is posable. The bone indicates the connection between each joint. Also when creating the skeleton the joints all need to be orientated to mayas axis for easier animation.
Reverse Foot Lock
The reverse foot lock is an important part of the rigging process especially when it comes to animating the finished model. The lock keeps the foot in contact with the floor when creating a walking animation. This helps to create a realistic walking motion.
Rigging 101
This site was really good for rigging the leg, especially the foot lock section. It was simple to follow and allowed me to work along at an easy pace.
